Privacy Policy — djour
djour Privacy Policy
The short version: We collect only what we need to run the app. We never sell your data. We never share it with advertisers. djour exists to document Philadelphia food honestly — not to monetize your attention or your information.

What we collect

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Your email address (to log you in and send account-related notices)
  • A username you choose (shown publicly on your posts)
  • Posts, photos, and videos you submit voluntarily
  • Content you save or interact with within the app
  • A profile picture, if you choose to upload one

When you use the app, we automatically collect:

  • Basic usage data (which posts you view, save, or share) to power the feed algorithm
  • Device type and operating system for bug fixing and compatibility

What we never do

We do not sell your data. Ever. Not to advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else. This is not a loophole — it is an absolute commitment.

  • We do not run ads or let advertisers target you based on your behavior
  • We do not share your personal information with third parties for marketing
  • We do not build behavioral profiles to sell to anyone
  • We do not use dark patterns to get you to share more than you intend to
  • We do not track your location without explicit permission

How we use your information

We use what we collect only to run djour:

  • To authenticate your account and keep it secure
  • To show your posts, profile, and activity within the app
  • To power the feed — showing you posts you haven't seen, boosted by community saves and shares
  • To send you account-related emails (post approval, application status)
  • To review submitted posts for quality before they go live

Your content

Posts, photos, and videos you submit to djour are shared publicly within the app after editorial review. By submitting content, you grant djour a license to display it within the platform.

You retain ownership of everything you post. You can request deletion of your content or account at any time by emailing us.

Data storage

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a trusted cloud infrastructure provider. Data is stored in the United States. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest.

Third-party services

djour uses a small number of third-party services to operate:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage
  • Expo / Apple / Google — app distribution and push notifications

These services have their own privacy policies. We choose providers carefully and do not give them permission to use your data for their own purposes.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your account and all associated data
  • Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account

To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@djourformore.com.

Children

djour is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

If we make significant changes to this policy, we will notify users in the app before the changes take effect. We will never change our commitment to not selling your data.
